Coolant Exchange
Keeping your Ford 6.7L Power Stroke’s cooling system in good shape doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. That’s why I offer a straightforward Coolant Exchange service using only genuine Motorcraft Yellow coolant.
We are firm believer that when it comes to the 6.7L, sticking with Ford’s exact recommended coolant is the smartest and safest choice. No mixing colors, no “universal” substitutes — just pure Motorcraft Yellow every time.
What Is the Coolant Exchange?
This service is a simple, OEM-style drain and fill procedure designed for routine maintenance. It’s perfect when your coolant is still in decent condition but it’s time to refresh it according to Ford’s guidelines.
Here’s exactly what you get:
• Drain the old coolant from the radiator and degas bottle
• Refill with fresh genuine Motorcraft Yellow Prediluted 50/50 coolant (meeting Ford WSS-M97B57-A2 specification)
• Top off the system to the proper level
• Burp the system to remove air pockets
• Basic visual inspection of hoses and coolant level
• Digital service record for your maintenance history
We use only Motorcraft Yellow — the current factory-recommended coolant for all 2011 and newer 6.7L Power Stroke engines. This advanced P-OAT formula provides excellent protection for your engine’s aluminum components and is fully compatible with the dual cooling system in your Super Duty.
Why Motorcraft Yellow Only?
Ford spent years engineering and testing this coolant specifically for the 6.7L Power Stroke. It delivers:
• Strong corrosion protection
• Good high-temperature stability
• Long service life when maintained properly
• Peace of mind knowing you’re using exactly what the factory recommends
In my experience, staying with genuine Motorcraft Yellow helps avoid the problems that come from mixing coolants or using off-brand alternatives — especially important in Florida’s hot climate where the cooling system works extra hard.
Important Note: This is a drain and fill service, not a full system flush. If your coolant looks dark, contaminated, or you want a deeper cleaning along with a low temp thermostat upgrade and new degas pressure cap, I recommend our Premium Coolant Exchange (Florida Hot Climate Edition).
